Save money. Stay comfortable. Conserve resources

Let’s face it. We find ourselves in an economy where the cost of everything seems to constantly be on the rise. As an existing homeowner, you’ve experienced first-hand the effects of skyrocketing electricity and fuel prices. And our dependence on fossil fuels is consuming our natural resources at an alarming rate. For years, insulating products such as fiberglass and cellulose have been the most viable products when looking for ways to increase the energy efficiency of a home. The introduction of green technologies and building practices now offers an insulation option that far exceeds the performance and cost-savings of traditional products.

That option comes in the form of polyurethane spray foam insulation. While it is a great insulation solution in new home and business construction, it also has application possibilities in existing structures.

Perfect for new structures and some existing ones

Spray polyurethane foam insulation is used primarily to insulate new homes or structures. This is because spray foam must be applied to an open cavity. When spray polyurethane is injected into a closed wall cavity, the pressure of the expanding insulation may damage the wall.

Consider insulating an existing home or structure with spray polyurethane foam when you’re replacing the exterior siding or doing other major remodeling.

Spray foam insulation is professionally installed at the same point in the construction cycle as other types of insulation. That is, it should be installed after the rough plumbing, electrical wiring, and heating and air conditioning ducts have been installed, but before the interior walls are completed in new home construction. In some cases spray foam also can be applied in older homes or buildings, to the inside of roofs and under floors after construction has been completed.
